LAST CALL! DODGE OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCES FINAL YEAR FOR CURRENT CHARGER, CHALLENGER

The current Dodge Challenger and Charger muscle cars will be making the switch from gasoline power to electric power after this generation, and the brand is sending off the gasoline-burning monster muscle cars with a special “Last Call” edition for the 2023 model year, as well as bringing back heritage colors for the model.

“We are celebrating the end of an era — and the start of a bright new electrified future — by staying true to our brand,” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand chief executive officer – Stellantis. “At Dodge, we never lift, and the brand will mark the last of our iconic Charger and Challenger nameplates in their current form in the same way that got us here, with a passion both for our products and our enthusiasts that drives us to create as much uniqueness in the muscle car community and marketplace as possible.”

In true Mopar fashion, both the 2023 Dodge Challenger and 2023 Dodge Charger will be available in a rainbow of colors, with some favorites returning for the 2023 model year. Those favorites include the classic B5 Blue, Plum Crazy, and Sublime, as well as modern Destroyer Gray. In total, 14 color choices will be available.

A commemorative “Last Call” underhood plaque of every 2023 Dodge Charger and 2023 Dodge Challenger marks the machine as the last of the breed, and features the vehicle name as well as “Designed in Auburn Hills” and “Assembled in Brampton” to proclaim each vehicle’s origin. R/T models, which have a 5.7L Hemi V8, will feature special “345” badging to denote the 345 cubic-inch Hemi under the hood.

Since the Charger was introduced in 2005, more than 3 million vehicles have rolled out of the Brampton, Ontario plant, which represents a combined horsepower figure of over 1 billion. With sales figures like that, it should come as no surprise that the Challenger was the number one selling muscle car at the end of 2021.
