2023 DODGE HORNET GT: THE MOST ATTITUDE FOR UNDER $30,000

Dodge unveiled the 2023 Dodge Hornet at M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan, showcasing three vehicles within the CUV segment: the “Head of the Hive” Dodge Hornet R/T; the Dodge Hornet GT, the industry’s quickest, most powerful utility vehicle under $30,000; and the Dodge Hornet GT GLH Concept. The Dodge Hornet R/T and GT both share similar exterior styling, ensuring the cars stand out as Dodge products.

2023 Dodge Hornet G/T## 2023 Dodge Hornet GT: Details

A unique new exterior Hornet badge on the fender celebrates the revival of the Hornet, a name first used on the famed Hudson Hornet in the 1940s and again in 2006 as a Dodge concept vehicle. The Hornet GT rides on 17-inch Silver alloy wheels, and the interior features a driver-focused design. Center stack controls, display screens, and more are subtly “tipped” towards the driver, putting the individual in the cockpit at the center of the action.

While the 2023 Dodge Hornet R/T is the brand’s first electrified performance vehicle, the GT model aims to be the quickest utility vehicle under the $30,000 price point. It is powered by the Hurricane4 engine, a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder with direct fuel injection and engine stop-start technology. It provides the CUV with 265-plus horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, combined with low emissions. The engine is mated to a fully electronic nine-speed transmission.

For sharper throttle, the Dodge Hornet GT features a Sport Mode with an optimized shift schedule enabling the driver to access the full power and torque. The GT can move from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds when the Sport Mode is activated. The Hornet GT comes standard with all-wheel drive, though, unlike the R/T, there’s no electric motor to send instant torque to the back wheels. The 2023 Dodge Hornet GT will open for orders on August 17, 2022, and is expected to arrive in dealer showrooms in late 2022.
