MAKE YOUR FORD MAVERICK OVERLANDING READY WITH THIS PLATFORM CAMPER

The Ford Maverick is a fantastic product that the Ford Motor Company can’t build fast enough. It’s utilitarian, frugal on gas, and fairly easy on the wallet, to name a few things. What many people are patiently waiting for, however, is a more off-road ready variant to take on some medium-core adventures. The Maverick Tremor seems to be a step in that direction, and if you’re lucky enough to get one of those, aftermarket supplier GFC has you covered with their new platform camping tent selling for $7,700. Below is everything you need to know about this new Ford Maverick GFC camper tent.

Ford Maverick GFC Camper: Details

GFC designed this camper specifically for the Ford Maverick, which features a sleep surface that measures 50 inches wide and 90 inches long. In addition, it has a two-layer foam mattress and a 7.5-foot tall pop-up living space. All of this fits within the outline of the truck bed. Measuring above the roof-mounted antenna adds 6.5 inches to the overall height when closed.

The camper’s roof is made from a translucent composite material capable of reflecting the sun and turning direct light into diffuse light. For those that wish to hang awnings or lights, the platform has racks that extend from the aluminum frame, making that possible. There are also three separate side panels that can be individually raised and locked. GFC says the entire thing weighs 255 pounds, meaning owners still have 1245 pounds of payload capacity for camping gear and other items. The roof of the platform can support up to 500 pounds, and the camper portion can be open as long as it supports 75 pounds or less.

GFC has stated that the platform camper for the Ford Maverick can be available as soon as eight weeks. Installation is offered at its facility in Bozeman, Montana, but it’s unclear if that’ll cost extra. Although those who want it shipped and installed on-site will have to pay an additional $750 if they live in the west region, $850 in the midwest, and $1,000 in the east, fuel costs will affect the price.
