Rosaldo had previously said that Derbez had a “very complicated” surgery on Tuesday due to his injuries but updated that the surgery was a success in a Spanish Instagram post.

The message also included a photo of Rosaldo holding Derbez’s hand.

Part of the translated message reads, “The recovery process will be long and difficult since he will have to rest for several weeks and then undergo rehabilitation therapies.”

She requested that anyone with questions look at her social channels to give her husband space to heal. He won’t be sharing anything publicly “maybe for a while.”

Derbez was born in Mexico and his mother was the actress Silvia Derbez.

He began acting in Mexican TV sitcoms such as Cachún cachún ra ra! and Anabel. He began appearing in American films with the Adam Sandler comedy Jack and Jill in 2011 and gained an even higher profile when he co-wrote, directed and starred in the feature Instructions Not Included in 2013.
