No. 2 Nebraska Stays Perfect in Sweep over Ole Miss

The Huskers are primed for an in-state showdown at Creighton next week

Another night of volleyball at the Bob Devaney Sports Center; another sweep for Nebraska.

The No. 2 ranked Huskers (5-0) welcomed their former player and assistant Kayla Banwarth with a warm welcome ahead of the match before battling her Ole Miss squad to a 25-13, 23, 21 sweep. NU has yet to drop a set this season.

Again running the 6-2 offense, Kennedi Orr got the nod at setter alongside Nicklin Hames. Anni Evans replaced Orr in the third set. Hames led the trio with 18 assists.

Madi Kubik took 30 swings on the night, killing 13 of them for a .400 hitting percentage.

Whitney Lauenstein had another big night with nine kills on .350 hitting.

Kaitlyn Hord led Nebraska with six blocks while Lexi Rodriguez tallied a team-high nine digs to go with seven assists.

The Huskers hit .330 for the match, holding the Rebels to .184.

Next up is the first road test for the Huskers. Wednesday in Omaha, Nebraska will take on No. 17 Creighton (4-1). The Bluejays have a win over No. 25 USC but fell Saturday to No. 16 Kentucky.
