After avoiding a big scare, the New York Jets could decide by tomorrow if it will have its starting quarterback to kick off the season.

Zach Wilson went through a workout on Monday and head coach Robert Saleh it’s “possible” he could even start on Sunday against Baltimore Ravens.

In the preseason opener in August, Wilson went down in what appeared to be a non-contact knee injury.

While fears of a season-ending ACL injury come to mind when that’s the case, the MRI wound up only revealing a torn meniscus and a bone bruise.

His estimated return was two to four weeks, making him now a possibility for week one.

“Everyone heals differently,” Saleh said during a press conference.

“I almost feel like some of the guidelines that are put on are guidelines. But everyone responds differently.”

According to reports, the Jets are expected to make a decision tomorrow on if he will be able to start.

Meanwhile, the favorite to start is Joe Flacco, who has been running the Jets’ offense since Wilson went down with the injury.

ESPN’s Rich Cimini reported that the expectation is that the 37-year-old veteran starts considering that Wilson hasn’t practiced fully yet.

Flacco appeared in two games last season, throwing for 338 yards and three touchdowns.

In 2021, Wilson was forced to miss four games with a PCL strain on the same knee Wilson injured this preseason.

Wilson in his rookie campaign started 13 games and threw for more than 2,300 yards with nine touchdown passes and 11 interceptions.

But at this point, Jets fans can only quote Dumb and Dumber and tell themselves “You’re telling me there’s a chance.”
