In 2001, Howard Stern told Freddie Prinze Jr. that his marriage to Sarah Michelle Gellar would not last 10 years.

Now two decades later, Gellar is holding Stern to word, saying that he owes the two of them big money. On Stern’s show, he told Prinze Jr. “So you will marry Sarah Michelle Gellar even though it won’t last.”

Prinze Jr. responded, “Absolutely it will last.”

Stern didn’t believe him, so he made a written bet with Prinze Jr.

“In about 10 years’ time, you can hunt me down and go. ‘Howard, I owe you money.'”

Prinze Jr. agreed and they settled on a $1 million bet.

Gellar has now posted the screenshots of the written exchange, and now Stern has been proven wrong so it’s double the money since the couple just celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary.

Prinze Jr. gladly shared his wife’s post and added, “She will never forget” – along with two laughing face emojis.

Gellar and Prinze Jr. first met on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer and began dating three three years later.

After a short time dating, they were engaged and married in Mexico in 2002. They have two children together, Charlotte Grace, and Rocky James.
