Statistical preview of the Nebraska Cornhuskers vs. Oklahoma Sooners football game on 9/17/2022
Oklahoma has played two games so far this season against UTEP and Kent State. Both were easy wins with scores of 45-13 and 33-3. In the Kent State game the lead was only 7-3 at half time.
The Sooners are 3-0 in turnover margin (2-0 and 1-0) with total offense of 492 and 430 yards. Time of possession favored both opponents since several of the Sooner scoring drives were less than a minute long. 10 of their 12 scoring drives were over 50 yards. In red zone scoring they were 8-8. First down totals are 43 to 46 which is the only negative stat.
Defensively the Sooners have 20 tackles for loss with 9 being quarterback sacks. They were penalized 12 times for 84 yards.
With the turmoil of the past week it's anybody's guess how the game will go on Saturday. I have a feeling the Huskers are going to test the Sooners and hopefully have scoreboard on them for the rest of the decade.
