What To Expect From Biden's Effort To Lower Health Care Costs For Seniors

This morning in the Rose Garden, President Biden will hold an event highlighting his and Congressional Democrats’ efforts to lower health care costs for senior citizens.

According to the White House, the President will discuss the news that came out of the Department of Health and Human Services this morning that premiums for Medicare Part B will decrease by over $60 per beneficiary starting from January 1, 2023.

According to the White House, the Congressional Republicans’ repeal of the Inflation Reduction Act would mean the elimination of the following Medicare benefits:

1. A $2,000 per year cap on seniors’ out of pocket prescription drug costs 2. A $35 cap on a monthly insulin prescription for seniors 3. Free access to critical vaccines like the shingles vaccine which currently costs most seniors $100

Biden will deliver a speech at 11:30 am ET from Rose Garden.
