Heschel Walker Urged Woman To Get A Second Abortion

A woman who claimed Hershel Walker, the Republican Senate candidate in Georgia, paid for her abortion in 2009, has told The New York Times that he tried to convince her to end a second pregnancy a few years later, which she refused.

The new allegations expand upon a report from The Daily Beast describing how Walker encouraged the woman to get an abortion and paid for the procedure.

Walker has been positioning himself as a “pro-life” advocate, condemning abortion even in cases of rape and incest.

He now faces Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock in a tight race.

Since the first report came out, Walker has repeatedly denied the charges, claiming he doesn’t even know the woman, who had her identity protected.

He declined to comment on the new claims.

The woman confirmed that she got an abortion in 2009. They continued their relationship after that and, two years later, she got pregnant again. Walker urged her to get a second abortion, but she decided to keep the child and end the relationship.

According to the woman, Walker had barely been involved in their now 10-year-old son.

“As a father, he’s done nothing. He does exactly what the courts say, and that’s it,” she said. “He has to be held responsible, just like the rest of us. And if you’re going to run for office, you need to own your life.”
