No. 1 Nebraska Volleyball Bounces Back with Sweep of Maryland

The Huskers left no doubt in their first match post-Wisconsin

Nebraska volleyball coach John Cook wanted to see how his team would respond to getting kicked in the teeth earlier this week.

His team answered with a furious match Saturday.

The No. 1 Huskers swept Maryland 25-16, 9, 19 to improve to 19-2 on the season and 8-1 in the Big Ten Conference. Multiple opponents this year have been held to single-digit sets.

Nebraska's dominance included holding the Terrapins to .000 hitting for the match. You read that correctly. The opponent's hitting percentage did not exist.

The Huskers, meanwhile, notched .263 hitting to run away with the sweep.

Six Huskers managed at least five kills. Bekk Allick, Whitney Lauenstein, and Lindsay Krause all had seven kills while Madi Kubik, Ally Batenhorst, and Kaitlyn Hord each had five.

Hord led the defense with nine blocks, followed closely by eight from Lauenstein.

Nebraska stays home Wednesday to host Indiana.
