GMC SIERRA SVE SPORT EDITION IS A SUPERSIZED SYCLONE

If you’re a GMC fan, you probably remember the Typhoon and the Syclone. The latter of which arguably holds rank as the most desirable American midsize street truck ever. Sadly, its time ended nearly 30 years ago, but thanks to the hands of Specialty Vehicle Engineering, a modern Syclone continues to be something that can be had today. But, say you wanted something bigger. Well, SVE has just the thing with the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500-based SVE Sport Edition, and the more imposing Off-Road Edition.

As was the case with the Yenko/SC Silverado builds, there is some fine print to take into consideration. First, only 50 of each 700 horsepower (5.3L) and 800 horsepower (6.2L) Off-Road and Lowered vehicles will be made. Secondly, they are only available on a 2023 4WD crew cab or double cab model with a short or standard bed size. Lastly, pricing remains elusive as the selected customization options and mandated configurations attribute to final cost.

Boasting either 700 (5.3L) or 800 (6.2L) horsepower, the SVE Sport Edition Sierra pickup makes the GMC Sierra a worthy rival to the RAM TRX or Ford Raptor R. Performance enhancements include; a blueprinted aluminum block, race- quality computer balanced rotating assembly, forged 1538MV twisted steel crankshaft and forged aluminum pistons, upgraded cylinder heads, and SVE’s own high-output supercharger assembly. A custom stainless steel exhaust system is also included to make your presence known.

The biggest difference between the lowered and off-road versions of the Sport Edition Sierra’s are mostly cosmetic. Both models offer a slew of quarter-panel graphics options unique to their own theme. The off-road Sierra for example features flared fenders while the lowered Sierra offers OEM quality fender inserts in brushed aluminum. Of course the lowered Sierra showcases a sport suspension system with two-inch lower progressive rate front springs and a five-inch rear lowering package. The off-road version rolls on a BDS four-inch lift kit.
