Public terror alert : Group urges FG to call US embassy to order

A group of patriotic Nigerians popularly known as Citizens Stability Forum (CSF), urged federal government of Nigeria to call US embassy into order on its public terror alert in Abuja.

This was contained in a statement signed by lead convener of CSF comrade Mukhtar Lawal and made it available to news men.

The statement that described the terror alert as centred selfish interest from US embassy, said they does not give a damn to what will happen to Nigerians, rather only important to them, are the interest of their citizens.

According to the statement, it is very unfortunate that US embassy went to public with such intelligence type of warning without sharing any solid or useful information with Nigerian government.

The terror alert, deliberately create widespread speculation, panic and creating undue anxiety among Nigerians and it residents which is very unfortunate.

” While slot of damages have been done, it’s imperative for Nigerians and Nigeria government to draw the attention of US government on the need to respect security protocols on intelligence sharing in this country.

“The US should be reminded that, such public move of terror announcement in addition to withholding security intelligence sharing with Nigerian government will only embolden terrorist and worsen the lives of citizens”, it said.

The statement then, called on US embassy to handle such intelligence in a more constructive and productive approach by engaging and sharing the information with relevant security authorities and officials.
