DIRECT CONNECTION IS OFFERING A 1500 HP ENGINE FOR $60K

How would you like to have 1,500 horsepower under the hood of your car? That’s quite a substantial amount of power for drag racing. It comes courtesy of DSR Performance, and this E85-powered beast can be ordered through the Dodge Direct Connection catalog, which recently announced a new lineup of supercharged and turbocharged engines for its performance parts catalog.

Direct Connection 1500 Hemi Engine: Details

According to Mopar Insiders, one of the new engine choices is a supercharged engine combination for enthusiasts and racers, offering industry-leading performance and drivability for your project cars. The Direct Connection 1500 Hemi Crate Engine from DSR Performance brings a new level of high performance with 1,500 ponies and over 1,000 lb-ft of torque. In addition, the engine is compatible with the Hellcrate wire harness and comes as a plug-and-play platform for engine swaps, and custom builds.

The Direct Connection 1500 Hemi was engineered for turnkey installation in modern and restomod builds. The 426 cubic-inch stroked motor is based on the 6.4-liter (392 cubic-inch) Hemi Big Gas Engine (BGE), which can be found under the hood of the Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty pickups. The Direction Connection 1500 Hemi offers an identical bolt pattern and motor mounts as the current supercharged 6.2-liter (370 cubic-inch) Hemi Hellcat V8. This means the engine can be seamlessly swapped for any supercharged and restomod chassis. The features of the engine include:

  • Stroked BGE Cast Iron With 4 bolt main caps block
  • Whipple Gen 5 3.0L Stage 2- Ported supercharger
  • 4.100 in. Bore
  • 4.050 in. Stroke

The Direct Connection 1500 Hemi was designed and intended for installation in vehicles manufactured in 1975 or earlier, pre-dating CARB or EPA regulations. It’s also designed for competition or racing vehicles that operate exclusively in events organized by widely recognized public organizations with authorizing permits for participating competitors. Installation and operation of the Direct Connection 1500 Hemi crate engine in a street-driven or licensed vehicle not described above will likely be considered illegal tampering and isn’t legal for use on public highways.

DSR Performance is taking pre-orders for the engine now, with a $1,000 refundable deposit required at the time of order. Meanwhile, the price of the powerful engine comes to $59,990. The first orders will start shipping in March 2023. If interested, you can place an order on the DSR Performance website.
