URGENT: BOJ chief tells Kishida easing needed for wage growth, price target

Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda told Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Thursday that the central bank will persist with monetary easing to achieve stable inflation accompanied by wage growth.

Speaking to reporters after their meeting at the prime minister's office, Kuroda said he had also told Kishida that the yen's rapid and one-sided depreciation of late is "unfavorable" for the economy.
