What is Unhinged Mode in Warzone 2 and how does it work

Call of Duty: Warzone has always been competitive gameplay-wise, but Activision has added a diplomatic spice in the new Unhinged mode.

Warzone has enjoyed a successful release and continues to be a hit among players. Plenty of new stuff in the latest iteration has attracted millions of players, including game modes never seen before. In Warzone 2.0, Activision has unveiled a new Unhinged game mode, which gives diplomacy a new meaning in Call of Duty.

The new game mode will force players to think strategically before shooting down a worthy competitor. Players can befriend their enemies through Assimilation to help them pave their way to victory.

How does Warzone’s Unhinged mode work?

Unhinged is a new game mode that can be chosen from BR Trios in the battle royale playlist. The game will start with trios of players with a maximum capacity of 150 participants. However, clever players can stack up their party to six if they are tactful in dealing with people.

Once in the game, you can analyze and observe the enemies. If you see a player with potential, you can invite them through the Proximity chat feature or ping wheel. Naturally, a squad with six players would overpower the one with three. If you’ve carefully picked the enemy team as your new teammate, victory will become a cakewalk. However, make sure you’re not relying entirely on the enemy to win. Players can also reject your invitation to team building.

Currently, Assimilation is not available in every mode. You can only use it in DMZ and Unhinged mode. Before jumping into Unhinged, make sure you have turned on the Proximity chat. Here’s how.

  • Launch the game
  • Click on the Launcher Menu button, and then go to Settings
  • Go to the Audio option
  • Scroll and select the Proximity Chat option
  • Now simply toggle the button to enable the Proximity Voice Chat
