Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu called out Kim “Doinb” Tae-Sang for leaking rumors that weren’t true in an online post, before eventually deleting the post and apologizing.
Doinb is well known for having his finger on the pulse of roster moves in the LPL and LCK during off-seasons, as well as casually leaking these rumors on his live stream. Recently, Doinb made comment on the future of the Worlds 2022 champions, DragonX, making reference to the organization wanting to keep every member of its championship roster except for Hong “Pyosik” Chang-heon, who it hoped to replace with Seo “Kanavi” Jin-hyeok.
Doinb and Deft collide over misunderstanding
In his live stream, Doinb spoke about alleged behind-the-scenes drama for the DragonX championship roster, which has now been revealed to be splitting up across multiple other teams. In the live stream, Doinb said that DragonX wanted to keep every member of the team to stay except for Pyosik, who it hoped to swap for jungler Kanavi.
According to Doinb, it was Hwang “Kingen” Seong-hoon and Kim “Zeka” that stepped away at the 11th hour to accept offers from Damwon Gaming.
Deft appears to have misunderstood Doinb’s statements, thinking that when Doinb referred to DragonX wanting Pyosik out, he was referring to Doinb’s wishes rather than the organization. Deft posted on social media saying that he had never asked for Pyosik to leave, and that his only request when negotiating with DRX was that all five world championship members remain for the next year.
In the statement he says Doinb doesn’t know what he’s talking about and should keep his mouth shut if he’s uninformed.
Deft later added another social media story, clarifying that there had been a misunderstanding in translation and that Doinb was referring to the organization and not to him. The two appear to be back on friendly terms with the mistranslation settled.
