URGENT: N. Korea fires suspected ballistic missile: Japan gov't

North Korea has launched what appears to be a ballistic missile, the Japanese government said Friday.

The latest launch comes after North Korea fired two ballistic missiles toward the Sea of Japan on Sunday that fell outside Japan's exclusive economic zone.

Pyongyang has test-launched ballistic missiles, including intercontinental ballistic missiles, at an unprecedented pace this year in defiance of past U.N. Security Council resolutions.
