2024 CORVETTE E-RAY HYBRID AWD SUPERCAR TEASED AGAIN

With all of the hype surrounding the 2023 Corvette Z06 since its debut last year, many may have forgotten there is a hybrid Corvette on the way. In a recent YouTube video, we have been teased yet again of the existence of a hybrid C8 Corvette, this time drifting through the snow showing off its expected standard all-wheel drive. The new Corvette E-Ray doesn’t have a debut date set yet, however this teaser suggests we’re almost ready for a formal introduction.

The YouTube video in reference, published by “Corvette Nut” carries an unusual name; “°•“°☆°•~♤°\|♧°•`~\°■•” but also looks quite reminiscent of an older GM teaser video title “Corvette Electrified.” Whether it’s a copy or cut of the original teaser remains to be seen however it reminds us that the E-Ray’s arrival is imminent. General Motors President Mark Reuss shared during the 2022 GM Investor Day presentation earlier this year, that the next chapter in the Corvette story would debut in 2023.

It is expected to show its face officially in the first quarter of 2023 as a 2024 model year vehicle. Unofficially however, we have seen the E-Ray a number of times. We’ve seen it hitting the track, in camouflage, side by side with a 2023 Z06 and C8 Stingray at Nurburgring. We’ve also spotted it testing on the streets of Colorado. Some of its features were even leaked via the online configurator.

The E-Ray will be the third iteration of the already popular C8 Corvette platform. Instead of boasting a whopping 670 horsepower like the Z06 supercar, the E-Ray is expected to produce 650 total horsepower, 495 of which will come from a 6.2L LT2 V8. The hybrid Corvette will share the same Tremec dual-clutch 8-speed transmission. While it may look alike and have similar power output as the Z06 its uncertain who would win in an all-out drag race, the all-wheel drive is sure to provide great traction, giving the Z06 a run for its money.
