The rise of ChatGPT could potentially overshadow Google and other search engines. By having an answer for everything, this AI chatbot is a perfect complement to traditional search engines. As such, some people have already developed solutions allowing this type of tool to be added to your favorite search platform.
ChatGPT is a revolutionary chatbot, capable of answering any question, whether it's about current affairs, culture or even philosophy, of commenting on a text or even creating one on any subject. This revolutionary tool is available to everyone, free of charge, on the website of its developer, OpenAI, where you can ask it all sorts of questions.
In fact, it competes directly with search engines. Google, the ultimate reference in the field, does not intend to stand by and do nothing, and has already announced that it is working on a host of practical tools using artificial intelligence to counter ChatGPT.
Irrespective, it is now possible to use ChatGPT on Google Search, through extensions, available for Chrome and Firefox. They appear as a small window to the right of the results, which show ChatGPT's response to the initial query. Another extension, available on the collaborative platform GitHub, even allows you to use it via any search engine, not just Google. In all cases, you need to have a (free) account with OpenAI to be able to use it.
But ChatGPT is also inspiring other, similar initiatives. For example, the You.com search engine recently integrated its own YouChat bot, a module with artificial intelligence capable of answering general questions, but also of suggesting solutions or summarizing text, all in natural language. YouChat already works in several languages, including French and English, and completes its answers with one or more useful links to expand your research.
But, beyond search engines, ChatGPT is already finding its way pretty much everywhere. As such, extensions now allow you to use it to write emails or to work in your favorite word processing tool. Twitter accounts even allow you to get answers without having an account with OpenAI!
