Daron Holmes II, one of the best players in the history of Dayton, is officially off to the NBA. The Denver Nuggets selected Holmes with the No. 22 pick of the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft. After Mother Nature made other plans, the Knoxville Regional is set to resume. Dayton and Miami (Ohio) were in the second inning of Saturday’s game when lightning entered the area, but the teams have now announced a restart time. Dayton forward Nate Santos plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal following a breakout 2023-24 campaign, On3 has learned. Santos enters the portal on the heels of a season in which he scored 11.7 points and pulled down 6.3 rebounds per game. He also dished out 1.5 assists per contest. A former Pittsburgh player, Santos spent two seasons with the Panthers before transferring to Dayton. Koby Brea has set up a pair of visits to two of the best programs in college basketball over the next few days. Per On3’s Joe Tipton, Brea, who is transferring from Dayton, will be at UConn from today through Sunday. He will then go to Duke next week and be in Durham from Tuesday through Thursday. Brea has spent the past four seasons with the Flyers with this year being a junior one for him. He has been a reserve for most of his career in 113 collegiate appearances. Former Ohio State forward Zed Key has revealed he’s committed to join Daytona for the 2024-2025 campaign via the NCAA Transfer Portal. Key spent the last four years with the Buckeyes and came mostly off the bench this past season. Key’s biggest year at Ohio State came in 2022-23 when he averaged 10.8 points and 7.5 rebounds as he carved out a starting role.
