Late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury had some iconic interview moments during his career. One of the greatest vocalists in rock ‘n’ roll, Mercury wasn’t just a showman on the stage, but was one when he was off the stage as well, and especially in interviews. He had a way of entertaining even when he wasn’t trying to. For this week’s Loud List, we compiled clips of some of Mercury’s most iconic, wittiest moments in interviews. In the video, you’ll hear him describe his, er, favorite hobby, all of the swear words he learned during his time in Munich (which he lived in for a time, according to uDi...

Freddie Mercury’s London home has been put on sale with an asking price of $38 million – more than 1,000 times the amount paid by the Queen star in 1980. Mercury left Garden Lodge, in the affluent Kensington neighborhood, to his closest friend Mary Austin when he died in 1991. After she auctioned most of the property’s furniture in 2023, along with a range of Mercury’s other possessions, she decided it was time to sell the house she’d stayed in for over 30 years. “It was really only ever my house in name only,” Austin told Bloomberg in a recent interview. “I had worked on the house with him an...

Cillian Murphy’s role in ‘Oppenheimer’ has sent fedora sales soaring. The ‘Peaky Blinders’ actor, 47, sparked a rise in the popularity of flat caps when he played brutal gangster Thomas Selby in the BBC drama, and has now had the same effect on another style of headgear thanks to his portrayal of the father of the atomic bomb, J Robert Oppenheimer. Retailers are reporting a huge spike in demand for fedoras – as worn by Cillian for almost the entirety of Christopher Nolan’s wartime epic. John Lewis is selling 21 per cent more fedoras than flat caps, and specialist hat seller Herbert Johnson say...
