Nebraska still has two open scholarships for next season, but it added another piece to its roster on Thursday. Southeast (Neb.) Community College forward and former Lincoln (Neb.) High standout Justin Bolis committed to NU as a preferred walk-on. He will have three seasons of eligibility with the Huskers. The 6-foot-9 Bolis averaged 15.5 ppg, 8.7 rpg, and 1.4 apg last season as a freshman. He also shot 52% from the field and 37.5% from 3-point range. Nebraska finally provided an update on Rienk Mast’s future on Thursday, and it was news no one wanted to hear. The senior forward announced that he will undergo knee surgery that will sideline him for the entire 2024-25 season. Mast will medically redshirt and remain with the program during his recovery. Nebraska Volleyball adds middle blocker Manaia Ogbechie to their class of 2025. The 6-foot-3 middle is from Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village, California. She is the fifth addition to NU’s class of 2025. Ogbechie is ranked No. 90 in PrepVolleyball.com’s rankings and is No. 123 in her class, according to PrepDig.com. The middle plays club for Sports Academy in California. At Oaks Christian, she has recorded 679 kills in three seasons on varsity.
