It’s been just over two weeks since Kenny Brooks and Kentucky women’s basketball have added to their roster after a red-hot start. That doesn’t mean it’s time to hit the panic button or anything, but it’s been a little bit since we’ve gotten news on that front. However, that could change very soon. A source tells KSR that Kentucky has made contact with Charlotte transfer Dazia Lawrence. Additionally, the Wildcats are very much “in the mix” to land the First-Team All-AAC member. The 5-foot-8 guard averaged a career-high 18.2 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 2.7 APG, and 1.8 SPG on 42.6% shooting from the field in...

Kenny Brooks has very clearly been a busy man since he got into Lexington. On Saturday, we learned that Brooks extended his first 2027 offer, and he continues to look to build for the future. On Sunday, it was announced that Brooks and Kentucky had offered 6-foot-1 2025 guard Bryn Martin. Martin currently holds offers from the likes of Iowa, Ohio State, Louisville, and Virginia Tech, among others. On top of that, she has visited Xavier, Pitt, West Virginia, and Wake Forest as well as several other schools. Martin is certainly one of the most highly coveted guards in the high school junior clas...

Despite the fact that Kenny Brooks is currently in the middle of trying to round out his first team at Kentucky, he’s also making time for recruits down the line. While we’ve already seen Brooks offer Maddyn Greenway, a 2026 prospect, we have yet to see him go as far as the 2027 class. However, that changed this weekend. On Saturday, it was announced that Kentucky had offered 2027 guard Ivanna Wilson-Manyacka. Wilson-Mackyana is one of the top overall players in the ’27 cycle as she is listed in ESPN’s 2027 Watch List. The list is compiled of the top 25 overall prospects in the class. This pas...

Immediately following his hiring, Kenny Brooks hit the ground running in Lexington. Before he took the Kentucky job, Brooks was in the middle of building a top-10 recruiting class at Virginia Tech. As expected, he managed to flip just about all of his commits and even brought over some of their roster. In his first year at Kentucky, Brooks has established that he’ll be looking to recreate the magic he had in Blacksburg. Of course, building a roster from scratch is difficult. Only two players from last season’s roster, Cassidy Rowe and Saniah Tyler, are returning. It does help that Tanah Becker...

With last year’s Kentucky women’s basketball team, there just weren’t a whole lot of talented depth pieces available. Sure, Maddie Scherr and Ajae Petty carried a lot of the load, but they’ve both gone to different schools now. Beyond them, the rest of the team was far too inconsistent offensively to be considered serious and viable scoring options. If Scherr and Petty weren’t clicking, the whole team wasn’t clicking. Additionally, six of Kentucky’s top seven scorers from last season are gone now. Emma King ran out of eligibility, and everyone else ran out of town. So, who’s that lone player r...

On Thursday, former Kentucky guard Maddie Scherr announced on social media that she will not be returning to Kentucky. Despite her visit to Iowa being canceled, Scherr confirmed to the BBN that she would be leaving home. Then, the only thing left was to figure out where exactly Scherr would play her final season of college basketball. On Thursday, we got our answer as the 5-foot-11 guard announced that she would be playing for Mark Campbell and the TCU Horned Frogs next season. Campbell was an assistant/associate head coach at Oregon from 2014-2021, where Scherr spent her first two seasons at....

When Kyra Elzy was fired in March, it was unknown if Kentucky women’s basketball’s next head coach, now Kenny Brooks, would retain Elzy’s two class of 2024 commitments. The first was 6-foot-5 center Ramiya White out of Butler Traditional in Louisville. She would end up reopening her recruitment on April 5. Then, there’s Tanah Becker, who committed to UK shortly before Elzy’s firing. While Becker has been highly regarded as one of the best Canadian prospects in the 2024 class, it was still uncertain if she would be retained by Brooks. However, on Thursday afternoon, Kentucky WBB announced that ...

It wasn’t too long ago when we learned that Maddie Scherr would be taking a visit to Iowa to potentially become Caitlin Clark‘s replacement. However, on Wednesday night, the Hawkeyes picked up a big commitment from Villanova transfer guard Lucy Olsen. Olsen averaged 23.3 points per game last season, which was third in the nation behind Clark (31.6 PPG) and USC’s JuJu Watkins (27.1). When Iowa received the commitment from Olsen, that meant that she would be taking up Iowa’s last available scholarship. Ultimately, head coach Lisa Bluder and her staff prioritized getting Olsen, and they got her. ...

On Sunday, head coach Kenny Brooks added another post player to the Kentucky women’s basketball roster. 6-foot-7 Portuguese center Clara Silva committed to the ‘Cats, announcing her decision on Instagram. Being an overseas player, scouting and knowledge of her game is limited. However, our friends at ESPN were able to provide us with a quick evaluation of Silva, and the report should be music to the Big Blue Nation’s ears. “If she was a player in the US, she’d safely land in the top 10 in the recruiting rankings,” ESPN’s Shane Laflin wrote of Silva. “She is mobile with a nice touch, smoothly m...

One of Kentucky’s premier players from last season is reportedly taking a visit to one of the premier programs in women’s college basketball. On Saturday “Skim Milkey”, the women’s basketball version of the popular X/Twitter burner account Trilly Donovan, reported thatMaddie Scherr will be taking a visit to Iowa on Thursday. Scherr spent the last two seasons in Lexington under former head coach Kyra Elzy but elected to option up her options prior to the Wildcats’ hiring of Kenny Brooks earlier in the offseason. It’s kind of odd that we live in a world where a social media page called “Skim Mil...
