Michigan landed a recruit from the Mitten State itself on Friday. The addition of Franklin (Mich.) Wylie E. Groves four-star interior offensive lineman Avery Gach moved the Wolverines up two spots to No. 15 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Michigan now ranks No. 4 in the Big Ten — behind Ohio State, USC and Oregon. Indianapolis Colts defensive end Kwity Paye will be with the team at least through the 2025 NFL season. On Thursday, the team announced they have picked up the fifth-year option on the former Michigan Wolverines defensive lineman. He will be under contract for the Colts for the next two seasons unless he signs a contract extension. “On the edge, (he) does things right, comes to work every day, you know what you’re going to get, highly respected by all of his teammates and I believe, and I think all of our coaches and even this organization – there is another level for him,” Colts defensive coo...

Sherrone Moore had to address the Michigan wide receivers and the group’s depth going into the 2024 season. It’s a fairly new group and there are only six listed on the depth chart, including two freshmen. The top three, as it stands, include Semaj Morgan, Tyler Morris and Fredrick Moore. Sherrone Moore kept it simple though: just keep giving the guys available as many reps as possible for preparation for the fall. “Yeah, you only get better at football by playing it,” Moore said. “So those guys got more reps and it was good for them. So I think they’ve continued to get better and excited for ...

Michigan wrestler Chris Cannon entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos confirmed. The two-time All-American had a “do not contact” designation. Cannon originally transferred to Michigan ahead of the 2023-24 season from Northwestern. However, he wrestled one match this past winter before being ruled out for the rest of the year with injury. Cannon was plugged into the Wolverines’ lineup at 133 pounds, but once he was hurt, Dylan Ragusin burnt his redshirt. Ragusin went on to become a Big Ten finalist and finished 5th at the NCAA Tournament, becoming an All-American for the first time...

In his two seasons at Michigan, Walker appeared in 12 games. In the 2023 campaign, he played in five games, tallying three tackles and one pass breakup. It took Walker just the spring to make his way back into the transfer portal after he opted to head South and jo...

Michigan has landed a commitment from a veteran and talented playmaker out of Youngstown State, snagging wide receiver CJ Charleston out of the NCAA transfer portal. The veteran wideout announced the commitment on his Twitter account. Charleston had something of a breakout season during the 2023 campaign, posting 33 catches for 503 yards and four touchdowns. That was his best output to date. But the 6-foot, 190-pound receiver has contributed for the Penguins for the last four seasons. In total, Charleston has logged 60 catches for 864 yards and four touchdowns. He’s also chipped in the occasio...

Joel Klatt took some time to break down the performances of Michigan quarterbacks Alex Orji and Davis Warren during the Wolverines’ Spring Game. Evidently, Klatt believes both quarterbacks are talented, but only one can win the team’s quarterback competition. He’s not leaning one way or another following the Spring Game earlier in April though. “The other thing that I think really stood out is just this quarterback battle. There were no answers on Saturday. We didn’t find out who was going to be the quarterback. I think you saw in a lot of ways what makes this quarterback battle so unique, and...
