While he’s yet to the status or achievement of those who tend to get biopics made of their lives, Oregon head coach Dan Lanning was posed the age old question: Who does he want to portray him on the silver screen? And the head coach came back with a pair of answers. During an interview with Will Compton from “Bussin’ with the Boys,” Lanning shared the actor he’d want for purely for their acting chops and who he’d pick based on likeness. And both were Hollywood A-listers: Christian Bale for the former, and Ben Affleck for the latter. “This is a good question,” Lanning said. “Who’s Batman? Chris...

Oregon will look to build on its 12-2 season from one year ago under second-year offensive coordinator Will Stein and third-year head coach Dan Lanning. Lanning spoke to the success Stein has had since arriving in Eugene as the Ducks prepare for their jump to the Big Ten Conference this fall. “I just think that he does a great job as a coach and working with other coaches, a really collaborative effort,” Lanning said during spring training. “I think he has a great vision of exactly what we want to look like and articulates that vision. He’s brought some great, you know, ideas. He’s one that is...

Coming off a 12-win season and looking to reach the College Football Playoff in 2024 as the field expands, Dan Lanning is doing a masterful job so far as Oregon‘s coach. So far the fit between coach and program has been like a glove, with Lanning orchestrating a whole lot of winning in his two seasons in charge. The Ducks are 22-5, with a 15-3 mark in Pac-12 play. But the current head coach wasn’t even entirely sure he’d get the job two years ago. In fact, it emerged somewhat out of the blue, without obvious connections or relationships what would have facilitated the hire in the first place. ...

In sports, it’s almost a rite of passage to find yourself on the wrong end of a rant or chewing out by one of your leaders. Along the way to his ascent to becoming the Oregon Ducks head coach, Dan Lanning has experienced his fair share of chewing outs. Dillon Gabriel received a seventh round or undrafted NFL Draft grade before he transferred to Oregon for his sixth season of college football ahead of the 2024 season. After five seasons of starting experience at the collegiate level, his final score was lower than he had hoped. Opting for a chance of scenery for the upcoming season, Gabriel explained how he’s not letting it shake his confidence as Oregon’s presumed starting quarterback. “I mean, I understand that it’s the facts,” Gabriel told Will Compton on an episode of ‘Bussin’ With The Boys.’ “So I’m not gonna — when I’m presented that I ...

Today, Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning is a highly respected figure within college football. However, at one point, his career was impacted due to his wife’s illness. Lanning explained during an appearance with Bussin’ With The Boys that his wife getting sick had an impact on how he viewed things in his life. It also made it tougher to find an appropriate work-life balance. “There were certainly some lows,” Dan Lanning said. “I don’t think I ever wavered in what I wanted to be able to do. I just probably became a man of faith a lot more and got on my knees a little bit more. You know, spea...

Dan Lanning knows from experience what it takes to work your way up the college football coaching ladder. Before becoming the Oregon head coach, Lanning started off as an assistant at the high school level in 2008 looking for any opportunity he could find. He drove 13 hours from Kansas City to Pittsburgh after hearing about an opening on the Panthers’ staff. He had to wait until the next day to speak with anyone as the coaching staff was not there when he arrived. When he finally got ahold of somebody, he was offered a graduate assistant position that paid only $800 a month. Lanning happily ac...
