After an entertaining run in the college baseball world series, Oregon outfielder Bryce Boettcher finds himself picking up a prestigious award. On Wednesday it was announced Boettcher was awarded the Golden Glove for outfielders in division one. This season Boettcher played in 56 games for the Ducks. On Sunday night Oregon punched its ticket into the super regionals. The Ducks battled with UCSB a second time over the weekend to advance. The 3-0 victory was fueled by a dominant pitching performance from Kevin Seitter. The senior pitched a complete game shutout to give Oregon the win. Seitter only gave up 4 hits and struck out 8 batters to secure the victory. Oregon jumped out to a 1-0 lead then added runs in the 5th and 7th innings. The Ducks recent success on the diamond has caught the attention of the national baseball scene. For the first time this week, the Ducks are in the top 25 of Baseball America’s rankings. Oregon debuts at No. 20 in today’s updated rankings. The bump comes after Oregon was able to sweep Seattle last week. Oregon swept Seattle and moves into the Top 25 for the first time this season.
