Taxi drivers began a 48-hour strike in Athens on Tuesday which on its second day will coincide with a nationwide action by public and some private sector workers. The walkout is expected to disrupt transport in the capital, ground some flights and leave ferries in the port. Romanian taxi drivers continued to protest on Tuesday in Bucharest against ride-sharing companies, which they have accused of causing unfair competition. They're calling for the government to enforce the limiting of alternative transport services such as those offered by ride-sharing apps. More than 1,000 cars blocked Constitution Square on Monday with many drivers sleeping in their cars overnight.
