Florida State basketball received some much-needed good offseason news as forward Jamir Watkins announced on social media that he will return to the Seminoles’ program for the 2024-25 basketball season. “Unfinished business,” wrote Watkins on his Instagram account. At the time of his announcement, Watkins was the top player available in the On3 Transfer Portal Rankings with a 96.90 rating. Previously from VCU, Watkins joined the Florida State basketball program for the 2023-24 season and quickly asserted himself as the Seminoles’ top player. Watkins led FSU in points, rebounds, steals and bloc...

Coming off a 17-16 season that saw the Seminoles go 10-10 in ACC play and get eliminated in the second round of the ACC Tournament, the Florida States men’s basketball team is looking to improve from top to bottom. This offseason, eight FSU players entered their names into the transfer portal and three others exhausted their eligibility, so head coach Leonard Hamilton and staff had a lot of work to do to build a roster for next season. One of the key pieces to that rebuilding effort will be four-star point guard Daquan Davis, who picked the ‘Noles over Georgia Tech in late March after being pr...

The outlook for the FSU men’s basketball team’s overhauled roster became a little more clear Wednesday with a pair of major moves. The good news for Leonard Hamilton’s team was that the Seminoles landed junior college All-America post player Malique Ewin, who averaged 14.9 points and 9.0 rebounds last season at South Plains College in Texas. The bad news was that star swingman Jamir Watkins, who led the Seminoles in scoring, rebounding and steals during his lone season in Tallahassee, announced he is declaring for the NBA Draft. The 6-foot, 7-inch VCU transfer averaged 15.6 points and 6.0 rebo...

The Florida State men’s basketball team has lost a sixth player to the transfer portal, and this is another big one. Point guard Jalen Warley, who started 32 of 33 games this past season, entered the portal on Friday, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. Warley averaged 7.5 points in 2023-24 and led the team with 92 assists. He is a former four-star recruit and was rated one of the nation’s top 50 players — and top five combo guards — coming out of high school in the Class of 2021. Sophomore forward Cam Corhen, who started 33 games over the past two seasons, also went into the portal recently and ha...

The Florida State men’s basketball team, which is in the midst of overhauling its roster, has landed a commitment from three-star power forward Christian Nitu from Fort Erie International Academy in Toronto, Canada. Nitu was formerly committed to Indiana State but also reports multiple high-profile offers, including Pittsburgh, TCU, Illinois and Creighton. According to On3, the 6-foot-11, 200-pound recruit is the 38th-ranked power forward in the 2024 class, as well as the 26th-best recruit in Canada. This is Florida State’s third commitment of the 2024 recruiting cycle. The other two, point gu...

Another day, another member of the Florida State men’s basketball team is apparently entering the transfer portal — and this time it’s a big one. Sophomore forward Cameron Corhen, who started 33 games over the past two seasons, is reportedly the next to enter the portal, according to a report Tuesday from Tobias Bass from The Athletic. If he follows through, Corhen will become the second FSU portal entry this week and the fifth since the 2023-24 season concluded. Shooting guard Tom House went into the portal on Tuesday, and the Seminoles earlier lost point guard Primo Spears, forward Baba Mill...

Add sophomore shooting guard Tom House to the list of players leaving the Florida State men’s basketball team this offseason. House played in 23 games this past season for the Seminoles but only averaged 3.6 minutes and 1.4 points. The 6-foot-7 wing was a three-star recruit out of Ohio in the 2022 recruiting class, but he had a difficult time cracking the top rotation at FSU. On3 national basketball recruiting analyst Jamie Shaw broke the news of House’s decision Tuesday morning. House becomes the fourth player to decide to enter the transfer portal following Florida State’s 2023-24 season, wh...
