A stock Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is one of the most powerful production cars ever built. It boasts a whopping 840 horsepower thanks to its supercharged 6.2L V8 Hemi. The Demon is relatively special in that only 3,300 of them were made and that it was once banned from the drag strip for, in a nutshell, being too fast. Horsepower as its main calling card, there is always room for improvement. A YouTube channel and performance shop have upped the ante, creating a 1,000 horsepower plus drag car out of a twin-turbo Dodge Challenger SRT Demon.
Vette lab, a performance shop out of Clawson Michigan that specializes in building ultra fast Corvettes, and YouTuber MotorTube, put together a Dodge Challenger SRT Demon that surpassed the 1,000 horsepower mark on the dyno. The video is really just one part of a series that can be found on MotorTube’s main page but the video in reference includes the moment the already fast Dodge Demon posted a four digit horsepower output. In addition, the shop managed to do all of the upgrades (including mounting turbo chargers on the bottom of the engine) in under a week’s time frame only adding to the wow factor.
The video shares four total dyno runs, each of which the Dodge Demon produces progressively more horsepower. The first run the Demon managed to post a modest 625 horsepower to the wheels. The second run yielded 893 horsepower thanks to 10.5 pounds of boost, and 941 horsepower for its third run. The third run, however, a white plume of smoke comes out of the rear but a fourth run ensues anyway and the final dyno run produces a grand total of 1,132 horsepower to the wheels.
