Another week has come, which means Dodge has dropped its second clue on the road to revealing the brand’s final special-edition Dodge “Last Call” vehicle. This one, titled “Density Matters,” offers another hint at the performance DNA of the ultimate Dodge vehicle. Featuring not one but two leprechauns this time; one is the evolved one we saw in the last teaser, and the other is your standard leprechaun. Both are on a scale, waiting to compare their weights.
Dodge Last Call “Density Matters” Teaser: Speculation
The verdict? The leprechaun that drank the mysterious yellow fluid from the previous teaser is 7.1 pounds heavier than the regular one.
What does this mean? It could be one of two things: the final Dodge Last Call special edition vehicle will be 7.1 pounds heavier than the Hellcat, or it has 7.1 pounds of boost more than the Dodge Challenger Demon. But honestly, that’s too easy. In cryptic Dodge fashion – which we saw a lot of when they were giving away Hellcat Redeyes for Christmas – that 7.1 number could be something as obscure as wheel alloy weight density, heavier fender flares, or a new wiper fluid compound.
We’ll give it our best guess here: considering that Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis hinted that this would be the most potent Dodge vehicle, we suspect the weight difference could have something to do with torque overweight. That means that the supercharger, which could originate from a Hellephant (pictured above), produces 20 to 25 pounds of boost, which adds significant power over the standard 6.2-liter Hellcat engines.
However, the number likely pertains more to the vehicle’s overall weight, as adding horsepower with only minimal weight gain is quite an accomplishment. Not to mention density, as used in the teaser’s title, is the measure of mass in a unit of volume. In terms of a car, that translates to how many goodies can be placed inside a particular space, and making exceptional power is all about cramming as much air and fuel into an engine as possible, so 7.1 pounds is significant when considering the amount of power that this thing could have. Perhaps even more than the record-setting Dodge Challenger Demon which remains the most potent production Dodge ever to reach the market… for now.
So far, the teasers Dodge has released have shown a devilish face with red eyes that has turned out to be a leprechaun. This creature then morphs into a monster thanks to a golden IV of fluid. This has given the leprechaun 7.1 more pounds of something. We have three more weeks, then all will be revealed.
