中国深センに本拠を構える「テンセントホールディングス(騰訊)」のゲーム部門「Tencent Games」は、アメリカのサンフランシスコで開催される「Game Developers Conference 2023」(以下 GDC 2023)への参加を発表しました。

Tencent Gamesが2023年3月20日(月)から24日(金)にかけて開催されるGDC 2023への参加を発表しました。
1987年にゲームデザイナーのクリス・クロフォード氏を始めとするゲーム開発者の私的な集まりとして開催されたGDCですが、その規模は年々拡大し、現在では数多くの企業が出展するイベントになりました。
2023年度は4日間開催されるGDC 2023ですが、Tencent Gamesは過去最大となる18のセッションの開催と、ブース展示を予定しています。
開催されるセッションでは、機械学習や大規模のシネマティックレンダリング、次世代モバイルゲーム開発テクニック、オーディオテクニック、そしてパイプラインマネージメント用の効率向上ツールなど、幅広いトピックスを網羅。
Tencent Gamesが展開する、以下のゲームタイトルやゲーム開発ツールのプレゼンテーションを行うことが発表されています。
- 「Honor of Kings」
- 「Return to Empire」(TiMi Studio Group)
- 「START Cloud Game」
- 「Arena Breakout」(Morefun Studio)
- 「Dune:Awakening」(Funcom)
- 「CloudFlow Pipeline」
- 「CROS Game Engine」(Tencent Games Common R&D and Operation System〈CROS〉)
またTencent Gamesが出展するブースでは、 文化遺産保存プロジェクトの一環として開発されたCROSゲームエンジンを使った万里の長城を題材としたクラウドベースのゲーム「Digital Great Wall」を実際に体感できたり、Tencent Gamesの機械学習を基にしたゲーム用AI開発プラットフォーム「Game AIR」やアート制作に活用できるスマートツール「Artigician」、そしてTencent GamesのCROSが開発したアンチチート製品「Anti-Cheat Expert」などの展示も行われます。
