DEVOUR HELLCATS AND SCARE SHELBYS WITH THE NEW ROUSH FORD MUSTANG SUPERCHARGER KIT

While the S650 Ford Mustang has been getting a ton of attention lately, that doesn’t mean the S550 is forgotten. Roush Performance recently announced its supercharger kit for the 2022-23 Ford mustang GTs with the 5.0L Coyote V8 engines. This kit provides a massive power increase of 300 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque over stock, boosting the Coyote V8 Mustang to a Shelby GT500-rivaling 750 hp and 670 lb-ft of torque. Talk about some serious gains.

2022-2023 Ford Mustang Roush Supercharger Kit: Details

The supercharger kit features TVS R2650 technology, which provides increased power output throughout the RPM band. Roush’s high-capacity cooling technology and a full-face, low-temperature radiator increase cooling capability allowing for greater power output and maximum performance. This kit is engineered for durability with oversized bearings and timing gears, providing longevity and reliability whether cruising the highway or hitting the track. For additional peace of mind, the kit is backed by Roush’s 3-year/36,000-mile limited powertrain warranty and is compatible with manual and automatic transmissions.

Roush’s 2022-23 S550 Ford Mustang Supercharger Kit meets the Tier 3 emissions standards required on the base Mustang for this model year. In addition, the kit incorporates a hydrocarbon trap in the air induction system and a unique 2022-23 model-year calibration. Despite these changes, Roush maintains the same performance targets for power and torque as in previous model years. By comparison, these emission standards were what caused Ford to drop the horsepower of the Mustang for these model years.

As with all Roush Performance limited powertrain warranties, they are only included when a Ford dealer or an Automotive Service Excellence-certified technician installs the kit. Additionally, the equipment isn’t approved for sale or installation in California or states that require an E.O. number. It’s also incompatible with Ford Mustang 5.0L engines equipped to meet Euro 6.2 emission standards or with the S550 Mustang Mach 1, and S550 Mustang Bullitt. As for pricing, customers will have to shell out $8,799.99 for the kit, but when considering the gains, that’s a lot of power for the price.
