Nebraska Sweeps Nicholls in Doubleheader

Huskers and Colonels will wrap up the series Sunday

After a change of venue, change of time, and a cancelled series opener, Nebraska baseball finally met up with Nicholls on the diamond Friday.

The Huskers (11-5-1) took both halves of the doubleheader in Manhattan Kansas, holding on 2-1 in the first game before a 17-1 rout.

Max Anderson and Dylan Carey led the Huskers with four hits each across the two-game set. Brice Matthews tallied five RBI in the second game.

Emmett Olson took the win in game one, tossing 7.0 innings while giving up just one earned run. Olson struck out seven while not allowing a single walk.

Jace Kaminska earned the game two victory. Kaminska gave up one earned run on 5.0 innings, striking out three.

Following the game, Nebraska and Nicholls announced they would stay in Manhattan for the weekend to play a series finale Sunday afternoon.
