F1 23 Officially Unveiled, Headed To PC And Consoles In June

By Joseph Allen

EA has officially revealed F1 23, the latest installment in the long-running Formula 1 racing game series. The game will mark the return of the Braking Point story mode, and it'll boast a host of new features and gameplay improvements as well, including the newly-introduced F1 World hub, 35% race distance, and more. You'll get to play it next month on PC and consoles.

After F1 22's F1 Life feature was given a relatively lukewarm reception, F1 21's Braking Point story mode is making a return in F1 23. It'll revolve around the lives of Aiden Jackson and Devon Butler, two racers for Konnersport Racing Team, and their trials and tribulations as they navigate the twists and turns of F1 racing.

According to EA, F1 23's handling model has been significantly improved over F1 22's, with better vehicle physics creating a greater sense of immersion and realism. In addition, if you play with a controller, the new Precision Drive system should make it easier for you to control cars, so it's not just wheel players who are being looked after.

In response to community feedback, EA is introducing 35% race distance into F1 23, which the studio says should create the perfect balance between shorter and longer racing options. Red flags have also been introduced to add "a new strategic element" to your racing experience.

As far as courses go, the full 2023 season calendar is being represented here, including Lusail and Las Vegas. You'll also get to race on three legacy circuits at launch: France's Paul Ricard circuit, China's Shanghai, and Portugal's Portimao. The new F1 World hub ties all of F1 23's content together, creating an all-in-one area where you can experience race challenges, unlock upgrades and cosmetics, and more.

F1 23 is coming to PC (via Steam, Epic, and the EA App), PlayStation, and Xbox on June 16th.
