S650 FORD MUSTANG GT3 WILL MAKE FULL DEBUT AT 24 HOURS OF LE MANS

It’s finally happening! The S650 Ford Mustang Dark Horse GT3 race car will finally be unveiled. Next Friday, June 9, Ford’s race car that will be making its mark in numerous international races, including the Rolex 24 at Daytona Speedway, the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans, the exciting Bathurst 12 Hour, and potentially even the Nurburgring 24, will finally be revealed.

A recent video posted on Twitter by CEO Jim Farley showcases the car racing its way around the track, though only the interior is on display. The vehicle sounds spectacular, but aside from that, a caption for the video states, “The Mustang GT3 will be unveiled 6/9 at 24 Hours of Le Mans.”

The car’s exterior has previously been teased sans livery, but complete in its carbon fiber body and massive spoiler. The debut will take place just a day ahead of the legendary race, which is going on its 100th anniversary.

S650 Ford Mustang Dark Horse GT3: Details

Not much is known about the epic-sounding race car, except that it features an M-Sport-built Coyote V8-based racing engine. In addition, the S650 Ford Mustang Dark Horse GT3 program is said to be headquartered at the Multimatic Motorsports facility in Mooresville, North Carolina. Before finalizing the S650 Ford Mustang Dark Horse GT3 program, Ford was reportedly pursuing a top-class LMDh Hypercar program that would have directly contended with Cadillac, Porsche, Toyota, and others. But they decided to go bigger and announced a partnership with Red Bull in Formula 1 instead.

It’ll certainly be exciting to see this epic race car finally unveiled after so many teasers about it being released. Not only that, but there won’t be much of a wait to see it in action since it’ll be participating in the grueling endurance race of the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 10. There, we will see the car in all of its glory as it zooms around the track.
