2024 CHEVROLET CAMARO ZL1 GARAGE 56 EDITION DEBUTS AT LE MANS

A picturesque town roughly two and a half hours southwest of Paris, France is vibrating with the influx of over 300,000 people that are expected to attend the 100th anniversary of the greatest motorsport event of the year. The 2024 Hours of Le Mans is set to wave green on Saturday, June 10, at 10:00 AM Eastern Time, and in the mix of exotic GT cars (including Corvette) and a sea of top-class prototypes (including Cadillac) there will be a NASCAR Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 going full send around the magnificent Circuit de la Sarthe. The Garage 56 Camaro ZL1 is set to put on a show for but one time. And to commemorate this, Chevrolet debuted a special 2024 Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition for collectors.

Renderings of the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition were shown publicly for the first time today in France during a “Meet the Team” event at Le Mans highlighting the race program and the race car. It is the second collector’s edition so far from Chevrolet that will be available for the final model year of the sixth-generation Camaro. After the 2024 model year, the Camaro will retire indefinitely.

The Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition features a new-for-2024 Riptide Blue exterior color, plus a graphics package that that mimics the actual race car, including thin gold stripes that accent a larger white stripe running from hood to rear decklid. On the hood is a NASCAR 75th Anniversary logo that matches the logo’s prominent placement on the race car. Gold and white stripes compliment the monochromatic stars and stripes visuals that start on the engine cowl on the hood and extend to the roof.

The Garage 56 Edition Camaro ZL1 also sees a unique aero work, with the front fascia of the Camaro ZL1 1LE featuring dive-planes like the race car, and a NASCAR Cup car-style wicker bill spoiler on the decklid.

Looking a little closer, “Garage 56” badges are located on the front fenders, replacing the “Camaro” badges, and a Hendrick Motorsports logo is added to the sail panels in a similar position to the ones on the race car. Satin mirrors and a black fuel door with carbon fiber inserts are additional exterior highlights, while the interior receives Garage 56 emblems on the floormats. A Garage 56 steering wheel badge rounds out the interior changes.

Three additional graphics will also be available on the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro Zl1 Garage 56 Editions: a NASCAR windshield header decal, white Goodyear front wheel arch decals and door decals displaying 24, the number run on the race car.

Mechanically, the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition is the same: a 650 hp LT4 V8 with 650 lb-ft of torque, sending power through either a six-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels, which are wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 tires.

If you were hoping to get one, you better be quick. Quicker than the race car, even. Only 56 cars to be produced for the U.S. market. Pricing is not immediately available. Production begins “later this year,” according to Chevrolet.
