UPGRADED FORD MAVERICK HAS 1200 HP, WILL GO 200 MPH

If you didn’t know, the Ford Maverick wasn’t a small pickup truck at first. Instead, it was an economy car from the 1970s with sharp edges and incredible good looks. One owner, Jimmy Shaw, recently got ahold of a first-generation 1971 Ford Maverick and modified it to mix modern tech with classic styling. Oh, and the car can reach speeds of around 200 miles per hour.

1971 Ford Maverick: Details

Jimmy Shaw told Ridiculous Rides that he found the car on eBay but didn’t anticipate building it up how it turned out. Shaw brought the eBay car to Greening Auto Company, run by a father and his son, to help revolutionize the old-school vehicle into something more extraordinary. Just by looking at the exterior, it’s clear they accomplished their task, with a modern appearance with LED lights for the car, a new paint job, but the same epic styling we all loved from the time.

On the inside, the car is made to be as safe as possible, with a roll cage and a plethora of features that ensure that if something does go wrong when demonstrating the epicness that is this Ford Maverick, Shaw can still be safe even if he can’t get out of the car promptly. At least, that’s the idea. According to the video, Shaw owned over 200 vehicles and wanted to create a ‘maverick’ by taking something old and making it his own with an ambition to run 200 miles per hour; that’s all it took to make this exquisite machine.

Jimmy Shaw accomplished his Ford Maverick dream with a top speed of 202.7 miles per hour from a 1200-horsepower engine. Not only that, but the car is a multi-award-winning creation and has managed to impress car enthusiasts and the general public, possibly even making new enthusiasts along the way. From the fender flairs that help retain the classic style to the modern touches, the car looks good, sounds good, and is truly unique.
