Not long ago, GM Japan announced that all orders for the C8 Corvette Z06 would be finished in black. That decision ensured orders for America’s Supercar were allocated without as many delays. But, if you want something that’ll help you stand out a bit more, Japan has some new customization options if you sacrifice some horsepower and purchase the Corvette Stingray.
C8 Corvette Stingray Special Edition: Details
Chevrolet is introducing the Limited Racing Style Edition and Limited Sport Style Edition in Japan as a nod to the company’s rich motorsport heritage. Each one of the models will be limited to just 35 units and available in two color combinations. But, customers can choose whether they want a coupe or a convertible. The excitement doesn’t stop there, as the vehicles are already available for order. Though, they won’t be cheap.
The most affordable Corvette Limited Racing Style Edition starts at $105,000 (14,900,000 Japanese Yen) for a Coupe 2LT in white. Meanwhile, a black convertible of the same trim will cost you $129,600 (18,400,000 Japanese Yen). Then, there’s the Corvette Limited Sport Style Edition, which costs $103,585 (14,700,000 Japanese Yen) for a yellow Coupe. Meanwhile, the price increases to $128,250 (18,200,000 Yen) for a convertible in the same color. Though, for those hefty prices, these Stingrays have some unique features that make them stand out.
Starting with the Corvette Limited Racing Style Edition, that will be available in Hypersonic Gray or Arctic White colors with blue or red interior accents, respectively. Depending on the exterior paint, the two full-length racing stripes are either black or red. The side mirror caps and spoiler have a naked carbon fiber finish, while the 20-spoke aluminum alloy wheels are finished in gloss black with red calipers nestled behind them.
The Corvette Limited Sport Style Edition receives a more elegant and stylish take on the car. The exterior lacks the racing stripes, but with a striking yellow paint job (or black alternative), that might not be a significant sacrifice. Meanwhile, the car’s interior shines as the seats are covered with fine Nappa leather, and the seatbelts are yellow to compliment the exterior. Altogether, both options should help the vehicles stand out in a crowd of Z06s, even if they don’t have the same performance aspects.
