FORD MUSTANG GT3 RACE CAR STEALS THE SHOW AT GOODWOOD

If you didn’t know, the Mustang GT3 and GT4 racecars made dynamic debuts while belting out their V8 soundtracks to the crowds at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. With burnouts and V8 engine roars, the sound of American muscle graced the lands of England last weekend. Luckily, if you couldn’t cross the pond to get to the event, a compilation video has been uploaded to Youtube by 19Bozzy92.

The video was made in collaboration with a few other YouTubers that made their way to the event, catching plenty of footage of the S650 Ford Mustang GT3 in all of its glory, with the beloved sound of the exhaust amplifying the sound of the modified 5.4-liter, naturally aspirated Coyote-based V8 engine developed by M-Sport. After seeing the video, we’re sure there will be plenty of people that get a glint in their eye and a desire to get their hands on a street-legal GT3 if Ford was ever to build one.

Ford Mustang GT3: Details

As for the engine of the Ford Mustang GT3, Ford started the build with the 5.0-liter Coyote V8, but since the performance team wanted to maximize the displacement, they opted for a 5.4-liter over the 5.0. As it stands, GT3 cars are “around” 500 horsepower, which is what the new Mustang Dark Horse‘s 5.0L makes, but there are instances where the GT3 needs more power; plus, the increase in displacement means its easier to hit 500 without putting as much strain on the engine components.

We have yet to see the last of this glorious supercar, as its legacy is only just beginning. Next year, it is poised to lock horns with the likes of the C8 Corvette Z06 GT3.R and other marques in a stacked FIA GT3 class that’s utilized by all major sports car racing bodies. So, we still have plenty of time to watch this glorious car burn some rubber, rev its engine, and wow the crowds.
