Joe Rogan has a significant reputation, but his love for muscle cars is likely his most well-known trait. He has quite the collection, from his Chevrolet Camaro to other fantastic classic muscle car builds. But today, we take a look at his jaw-dropping 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, nicknamed “Sickfish,” has been put in the spotlight once again, and this time it’s better than ever.
Meet ‘SickFish’: Joe Rogan’s Latest Muscle Car
AutotopiaLA undertook a quick trip to take the car to the Roadster Shop HQ. But it’s different from the version introduced about 20 years ago; this one has some performance and structural updates that make it an entirely new creature. The Roadster Shop‘s team made minimal changes to the exterior, excluding the door latches. Designed by Chip Foose and built by Troy Trepanier of Rad Rides by Troy, the car’s exterior remained untouched. However, when looking underneath at the mechanical modifications, things get interesting.
The entire floor and firewall were removed, integrating a custom chassis with a rear-mounted transaxle connected by a unique torque tube system. This provided more space and rigidity due to the unibody construction. Under the hood, the car boasts a powerful Mercury SB4 8-liter LS7-based long block engine, generating an impressive 750 naturally aspirated horsepower. This engine can reach around 8,300 RPM, producing power and the classic muscle car sound. A three-inch stainless steel X-pipe and Borla mufflers give this thing proper aggression when accelerating or revving the engine.
The 1970 Plymouth Barracuda Sickfish 2.0 features Fox adjustable coilovers, providing a 2-inch lift for improved functionality. The Cuda’s body and suspension have been modified to enable steering lock-to-lock, accommodating 22-inch HRE wheels. The interior showcases modern upgrades, including Recaro seats, digital panels, and carbon fiber components. We’re sure some neighbors won’t appreciate this beast of a car roaring to life, but it’s safe to say that Joe Rogan will be pleased with the final product.
