Full-size trucks are beloved by many in North America. Many use them for home projects, family traveling, towing, you name it. When there’s a vehicle as capable and versatile as them, it’s no surprise that they dominate the market. That said, the current-generation Ram 1500 is due for a refresh since its introduction to the market a few years ago. That means spy photographers have been catching glimpses of the trucks wrapped in camouflage, and the most recent version is the off-road-focused Rebel trim.
What Can You Expect From 2025 Ram 1500 Rebel Refresh?
According to Motor1, heavy covers are in place at the front and rear, but despite that, this truck looks similar to the first mid-cycle refresh sighting in July. Both are black with black wheels, but this time it looks like this truck is slightly different. With black mirrors and no chrome in sight around the windows, not to mention the ride height and white letter tires. It’s hard to think this is anything but the legendary Rebel trim.
When looking at the grille, it becomes even more clear that this is a Rebel; thanks to the wind pushing the coverings against the front of the truck, it’s easy to see the Rebel’s unique design outlined behind the coverings, and based on that it appears the grille is a bit larger than what can be found on current models. In addition, the headlights could be smaller, and since the lower fascia is also covered, we can expect to see some design changes there as well. As for the back, we expect the 2025 Ram 1500 Rebel to have updates to the taillights and possibly some changes to the bumper. We can see dual exhaust pipes exiting through small cutouts in the bumper, which leads us to what could be the most significant change for this truck.
The Ram 1500 Rebel is poised to get a new engine option for the upcoming refresh, which is expected to be the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six. Ram has yet to officially confirm this information. Still, as the Hemi V8 is starting to ride into the sunset for Stellantis vehicles, we can expect the powerful Hurricane I6 to replace it. With more power and fuel efficiency, it makes sense even though the V8 will always be our favorite. In top tune, the 3.0-liter turbo engine develops 510 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque, which should be more than enough to suit off-roading and towing needs. As for when we may see the updated Ram without camouflage, it’ll arrive in the 2025 model year. An unveiling could occur either later this year or sometime in early 2024.
