Since July, spy photographers have spotted Ram 1500s with the front and rear wrapped in significant camo. This has been a pretty dead giveaway that the brand has a refresh for the full-size truck on the way, and thanks to a recent comment by Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis, who now doubles as CEO of the Ram brand, we now have confirmation that the refresh will launch at the beginning of next year.
What Can You Expect From The 2025 Ram 1500 Refresh?
According to The Detroit News, the latest truck generation was introduced four model years ago, and it appears the dated design has caused a loss in market share. It now sits at 3.45% in the second quarter compared to 4.41% in 2019. This is likely attributed to Ford launching the new F-150 in 2021 and Chevrolet recently refreshing the Silverado. Overall sales for the Ram pickups are currently down 9% in the first six months of the year, and inventory is rising. Perhaps the 2025 Ram 1500 refresh will hit at just the right time.
The refreshed truck could be shown at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November alongside the all-electric Ram ProMaster commercial van, Stellantis’ first EV built in North America. As for Kuniskis taking over the Ram brand, he’s intrigued to do so after spending time with other North American Stellantis brands, from Alfa Romeo to Jeep. Not to mention that there’s a lot of crossover between buyers of Dodge and Ram products – muscle car and truck brands (huh!) – which isn’t all that surprising since the truck used to be part of the Dodge brand until splitting in 2009. Ram now enjoys global popularity, while Dodge has evolved into a focused American performance brand with some of the youngest and most diverse buyers of the industry.
Customers should expect a redesigned front and back end for the upcoming Ram 1500 refresh. It’s believed that these changes will make the truck share a closer resemblance to the 2025 Ram 1500 REV, which was revealed earlier this year. While that truck is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2024, it clearly won’t be a replacement for the internal combustion engined truck thanks to the ever-important demand. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the Dodge Charger and Challenger, which will see an end to production this year with the fully-electric Dodge Charger Daytona coming in as its replacement mid-next year.
