Hillary Clinton went head-to-head with a heckler while speaking at Columbia University earlier this week.
The incident occurred on Monday, October 23, while the former Secretary of State was a guest for the school's "Making Human Rights Come Alive: The UHDR at 75" event.
Clinton was joined by Allida Black, Frank Mugisha, Michelle Bachelet, and Maria Ressa for the 75th anniversary of the the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Throughout their discussions, a man interrupted to demand that the former first lady "denounce the president['s] openly war mongering, suicidal, any idiotic speech." referring to President Joe Biden urging Congress to pass a budget request that would send aid to Ukraine and Israel.
Clinton firmly asked for the man to "sit down," but the heckler insisted, "This is free speech!"
"Everyone has everything," he continued. "That is not free speech. This is people constructing narratives that are openly hypocritical. I’m sorry."
Clinton finally asked for the man to be escorted out of the auditorium so they could continue with their event, but before he went, she said she would meet him outside after to talk about his concerns. However, it's unclear if that happened.
This comes after Biden argued that the United States should send aid to Ukraine and Israel to keep alliances strong as both countries continue to experience repeated attacks. Russia invaded Ukraine in early 2022, while Israel suffered terrorist attacks by Hamas militants earlier this month.
"American alliances are what keep us, America, safe. American values are what make it a partner that other nations want to work with," he said during a primetime address from the Oval Office. "To put all that risk, if we walk away from Ukraine, if we turn our backs on Israel, it’s just not worth it."
"That’s why tomorrow I’m going to send to Congress an urgent budget request to fund America’s national security needs, to support our critical partners, including Israel and Ukraine," he continued.

"It’s a smart investment that’s going to pay dividends for American security for generations, help us keep American troops out of harm’s way, help us build a world that is safer and more peaceful, and more prosperous for our children and grandchildren," he concluded.
