With customers receiving orders for the S650 Ford Mustang, we’ve already seen the epic new muscle car on the road. But things get more exciting as aftermarket companies release products to make these cars more unique and epic than they already are. Take the new Gen 6 3.0L Whipple Supercharger, for example; it takes the latest version of the 5.0L Coyote V8 and gives it a serious bump.
S650 Ford Mustang Whipple Supercharger: Details
The Gen 6 3.0L Whipple Supercharger features an updated bearing plate and inlet port shape, which helps increase rotor filling. This, in turn, decreases temps and increases overall airflow throughout the duration of the RPM Curve. Testing has shown that with the same pulley size and conditions, the Gen 6 blower adds around 30-35 horsepower more than the Gen 5 on 91 octane. Customers can choose from either the Stage 1 or Stage 2 Kit, where the main difference between the two pertains to the throttle body. The Stage 1 S650 Ford Mustang kit features a single 92mm GT500 throttle body, while the Stage 2 kit comes with the Billet 112mm round throttle body and GT500 electronics.
Both S650 Ford Mustang Whipple Supercharger kits use the factory fuel pump setup, though the injectors for the stage 1 and 2 kits will use the Bosch 55lb/hr Fuel Injectors, which are the same injectors found in the 2018-2023 Mustang Kits. The kit will also come standard with a set of Billet Fuel Rails. This equates to 810 horsepower with the Stage 1 kit and an astounding 855 horsepower with the Stage 2.
Unfortunately, the supercharger stage kits aren’t currently 50 state-legal, which is something to keep in mind. That said, the stage 1 complete kit will have an option of purchasing the kit with a 36K mile powertrain warranty, covering up to $7,500 in engine damage and $2,000 in transmission damage. This warranty is only for vehicles under 36,000 Miles or under three years old. Finally, the starting price for the S650 Ford Mustang Whipple Supercharger comes in at $9,295.99, which is a good deal when considering just how much power this adds to the car.
