A lot remains a mystery for the fully electric Dodge Charger Daytona. On the topic of storage space, the vehicle will feature a hatchback design despite still holding the appearance of a regular coupe. But, without an engine, a front trunk or frunk will be incorporated into the e-muscle car.

According to sources close to Mopar Insiders, the Charger Daytona variant will have a substantially sized frunk. This revelation should give future customers peace of mind, especially since Dodge has been working to balance cutting-edge design with practical functionality, hence the move towards a hatchback instead of using a typical trunk. The combination of a spacious frunk and hatchback should offer customers plenty of cargo space to store and haul various items to and from different destinations.
What’s interesting about this discovery is that despite having a functional frunk, the Dodge Charger Daytona will also keep the innovative R-wing design. The patented R-Wing enables airflow through the front opening where a traditional grille would be on an ICE vehicle. This allows air to funnel up and over the car’s hood, creating more front downforce for the e-muscle car. While it’s unclear how well this feature works, one thing is certain: it’s a powerful aesthetic for the vehicle.
On the note of the R-Wing, the standard model of the next-generation Dodge Charger making use of the previously mentioned twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Hurricane I6 engine won’t have the R-Wing and frunk.
