Mayor Eric Adams And Governor Kathy Hochul Announce +Pool Project

New Yorkers won’t have to make the trek to the Hamptons this summer. Mayor Eric Adams and Governor Kathy Hochul have announced a collaborative effort to finance a groundbreaking +Pool that “can sit in New York’s rivers.”

This portable, floating pool is set to be a first-of-its-kind innovation, undergoing testing this summer. Harnessing cutting-edge filtering technology, the +Pool aims to provide a refreshing escape for more New Yorkers during the sweltering summer months. Upon meeting all health and safety requirements, the +Pool is slated to open its doors to the public next year.

Mayor Eric Adams expressed pride in the partnership with Governor Hochul.

“I’m proud to partner with Governor Hochul to bring the +Pool, a unique and innovative swimming pool, to New York City — expanding access to swimming for all New Yorkers,” stated Mayor Eric Adams.

“Drowning is the leading cause of death for children ages 1-4 and extreme heat is making the need for safe summer recreation more urgent than ever. NY SWIMS is a bold ambitious plan to tackle this issue here in New York City and across the State of New York,” noted Gov. Hochul.
