Hunter Biden is set to undergo a closed-door deposition on February 28th. This announcement comes as the House Republicans were heading towards a resolution to keep Biden’s son in contempt of the Congress for refusal to comply with the subpoena.
Chairmen James Comer and Jim Jordan issued a statement confirming the deposition, stating, “Hunter Biden will appear before our committees for a deposition on February 28, 2024. His deposition will come after several interviews with Biden family members and associates. We look forward to Hunter Biden’s testimony.”
While Hunter initially expressed a preference for testifying in a public forum, Republicans stood firm on their decision to conduct the questioning behind closed doors. What Biden’s son framed as a pursuit of transparency, Republicans dismissed as a mere publicity stunt.
