HELLCAT-POWERED AM GENERAL 6x6 HUMVEE SELLS FOR $825,000

There’s a reason the Hummer is such a popular vehicle; it’s a highly capable vehicle that won its legend by carrying soldiers through the desert under the guise of the AM General HUMVEE. That said, we have yet to see one of these epic metal blocks with wheels chopped and converted into a 6×6 masterpiece, and if we did, surely it would sell for a high price. That theory has been confirmed at the 2024 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction, where one such Humvee sold for a staggering $825,000, with the help of none other than Richard Rawlings.

This one-of-a-kind Humvee, initially produced by AM General, is renowned for its rugged durability and versatility across various terrains. In 2009, Danton Arts Kustoms and Frenchy Export got their hands on this 2009 AM General Military Humvee. They converted it into an outstanding custom 6sx6 behemoth that looks like something out of Transformers. According to the Barrett-Jackson listing, this Humvee features a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 Hellcat engine at its heart, boasting an outstanding 717 horsepower, paired with a robust 4L80E automatic transmission to manage its brute force. The powerhouse contains power steering, 6-wheel disc brakes, and a contemporary LCD cluster.

The vehicle features a meticulously handcrafted body constructed from all aluminum and metal. The customization process involved chopping the roof and tailoring the rear to integrate the 6×6 chassis seamlessly. The matte Military Green finish, complemented by custom graphics and DuraLiner touchpoints, calls back to the Humvees’ military roots while offering a more race-inspired finish.

The 6×6 Humvee is given a modern touch with smartphone-controlled features, including remote start, lights, horn, and turn signals. Of course, we can’t forget to mention the spoiler wing, crafted from an actual aircraft wing, which lends to the apocalyptic flair of the overall vehicle, designed for road-commanding looks and power. With custom off-road wheels, shod in high-performance road tires, sized 245/4-20 at the front and 305/35-24 at the back, this custom humvee holds an aggressive stance that will turn heads no matter where it is.
