To honor the legacy of the Camaro muscle car, Chevrolet sent off the sixth-generation Camaro with a special Final Collector’s Edition, highlighted by an exclusive “Panther Black” color and unique design details. Of the most desirable was the ZL1 version. Just 350 of these very special 2024 Camaros were built, and one was auctioned off at no reserve during the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The particular 2024 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Collector’s Edition sold was number 22. Each of the 350 ZL1 models boasts a serialized steering-wheel badge representing the production sequence. The car is finished in Panther Matte Black over a Jet Black and red-accent interior. It’s brand new, with just 12 miles on the odometer when the car was sold. Thanks to its rarity and the fact that Chevrolet is no longer producing the Camaro, the car sold for a whopping $236,500 at the auction.
With the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, the 2024 Camaro ZL1 Collector’s edition has 650 horsepower under the hood and 650 lb-ft of torque. That’s plenty of power to have a thrill, especially with the sleek design of this limited edition ZL1. The Collector’s Edition ZL1 features a front splitter and rear wing from the insane L1 1LE. A Panther Black Metallic stripe, red brake calipers, and black lug nuts contrast the matte black paint. Each Collector’s Edition came with a bespoke Shinola Canfield Sport 45mm watch commemorating the special edition muscle car. The watch also features an inscribed serial number that matches the number on the vehicle’s steering wheel badge.
The Collector’s Edition is also identifiable thanks to the unique front fender script badging that integrated a panther into the “R” and a panther on the steering wheel badge. One thing is certain: These 350 cars are exceptional, not just due to their rarity but also for what they represent. The last time we may ever see a V8-powered Chevrolet Camaro ever produced.
